Well, almost a full season; ABC orders seven more episodes of Christina Applegate’s amnesiac comedy.

ABC hasn’t forgotten about one of its top comedies, ordering seven more episodes of its successful Samantha Who?. Normally, a network would make a “back nine” pickup, meaning that nine episodes would be added to a show’s season for a total of 22 episodes.

But ABC only went with seven for a total of 20 episodes because it has plenty of midseason fare just frothing at the mouth to get in the game, says Variety. NBC import Scrubs, new shows The Goode Family, Better Off Ted, and Single With Parents, and (ugh) perennial provider of “WTF?”s According to Jim are all getting ready to beef up ABC’s lineup.

Samantha Who? is currently a few episodes into its second season, after being one of the top-rated new comedies from last year. Christina Applegate stars as Samantha, a once mean-spirited woman who gets amnesia and awakes to realize she didn’t like herself before the accident.
