Emmy-winning actress Christina Applegate has revealed she wants ‘a couple’ of babies in the near future.

The 38-year-old star announced a year-and-a-half ago that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer but now she said she is looking to the future.

She told In Touch: ‘You look at life a little bit differently. You don’t let any stress into your life, and you do a total 180 from where you were.’

Talking about the future, she added: ‘I want to work with Meryl Streep, I want to go to Greece, and I may want to jump out of a plane. And babies, lots of babies. Well, not lots of babies, but a couple!’

More than a year after she was diagnosed with breast cancer, Christina Applegate has a new outlook on life.

“Right away, you kind of go gung-ho — you don’t let any stress in your life, you don’t eat any crap, you do a total 180 from where you were,” she told UsMagazine.com at the EIF event benefiting the Women’s Cancer Research Fund in Beverly Hills on Wednesday. “You look at life a little bit differently.”

The Emmy-winning actress, 38 — who underwent a double mastectomy in August 2008 to prevent her breast cancer from returning — admitted that her perfect behavior didn’t last long.

“Then life happens and it eases up a little bit, but it’s always in the back of your mind that you get one shot at this,” she told Us. “So try to be as joyful and forgiving as you can, eat beautiful foods that come from the earth — not so much from other places.”

Her other tip? To laugh.

“I have to or else I’ll just cry all the time,” the star — who launched Right Action for Women to promote early detection of cancer through MRIs — said. “Laughter is so healing … I think that it frees up your body to heal, too. Humor has always gotten me through the toughest of times.”

Christina Applegate vows to fight breast cancer guidance
Posted by: Jennifer | Filed under: News, Personal | Comments: No Comments

Christina Applegate lashed out at new US mammography guidance.

The Tony award-winning actress joined a host of older celebs that include fellow survivors Olivia Newton-John, Jaclyn Smith and Melissa Etheridge in criticising the new guidance that raised the age of a woman’s first mammogram from 40 to 50 and cut annual screening.

Applegate, 38, had a double mastectomy following a 2008 diagnosis with breast cancer. She afterward said she was ‘100 percent clear’ of the cancer.

Applegate vowed to fight the guidelines which followed statistical research. She said: ‘Don’t even get me started. Look, I just started to sweat. I get a little angry. I don’t mind being outspoken about that. I think that is the most atrocious thing I’ve ever heard. I was 36 years old when I had breast cancer, and you’re going to have people wait until, like, they’re 50 to get screened? It irks my whole body.’

She added: ‘I’m telling you, it’s not going to happen. We women will fight that as much as we can.’

Applegate slams cancer screening rules

Christina Applegate has criticised new guidelines which suggest only older women should be screened for breast cancer.

Applegate was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008 and later announced that she was “100% clear” of the disease after having a double mastectomy.

However, in an interview with Parade, Applegate revealed that she will “fight” the new breast exam guidelines.

“Don’t even get me started,” she said. “Look, I just started to sweat. I get a little angry. I don’t mind being outspoken about that. I think that is the most atrocious thing I’ve ever heard.

“I was 36 years old when I had breast cancer, and you’re going to have people wait until, like, they’re 50 to get screened? It irks my whole body.”

She added: “I’m telling you, it’s not going to happen. We women will fight that as much as we can.”
