Since going into the entertainment industry, Christina Applegate has developed quite a stellar career. Lately she’s been known for her series Samantha Who? and even got a spot alongside American Idol’s Carrie Underwood on her holiday special. But one of the films she’s bound to be remembered for is the upcoming Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel.
Applegate joins the movie’s stars Jason Lee, Justin Long, and Matthew Gray Gubler in voicing a character for the film, which is set to hit theatres later this month. A new trailer has been released for the animated feature, which features the Chipettes belting out Beyonce’s song “Single Ladies.”
Anyway, Christina Applegate voiced the character Brittany, along with Ana Faris and Amy Poehler as the other members of this girl group. The three of them end up a rival band against Alvin’s team in terms of music career, but maybe there’s something more going on among them.
Despite knowing about the sinister plot Ian (David Cross) has for the Chimpunks, the whole experience was a thrill for Samantha Who?’s Applegate. She updated her Twitter account just to reveal how excited she was about the screening she attended for the movie.
Taking several children to the premiere, she wrote: “Just got out of the screening of the Squeakquel with 20 kids that I know and love. Seriously the most wonderful thing to see them so happy!”
Later, Christina Applegate added: “I do the voice of “Britany” in the squeakquel, and everytime I see those chipettes singing I get giddy. Wanna put them in my pocket! So cute”
We’re all definitely looking forward to what this star has to offer on the big screen. Don’t miss her and the Chipettes as Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel airs in cinemas this December.
