The video of Christina on “Good Morning America” is now online! You can watch it on ABC News.com.

I will have a download-able version of the clip as well as captures from it later on tonight. :cute:

Here’s some information from her appearance on the show, thanks to Reuters:

“Samantha Who?” star Christina Applegate, 36, is free of cancer after having both breasts removed to combat the disease, the actress told a U.S. television news show on Tuesday.

Applegate, who revealed her diagnosis for breast cancer earlier this month, had the double mastectomy performed a month after her diagnosis, she said on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

The actress, who stars on the ABC sitcom “Samantha Who?,” said she bore a genetic risk for developing breast cancer, and she said her surgery was meant to prevent the cancer she suffered in one breast from coming back. But she said it was difficult to have both breasts surgically removed.

“Sometimes, you know, I cry,” Applegate said. “And sometimes I scream. And I get really angry. And I get really upset, you know, into wallowing in self-pity sometimes. And I think it’s all part of the healing.”

Applegate also talked about her mother, Nancy Priddy, who survived breast cancer and helped support the film and TV star in battling cancer.

“She’s been sort of this quiet warrior in the back and has been a great support, and just telling me that I was going to be OK. And I knew I was going to be OK. I’ve watched her,” Applegate said.

In the interview with ABC, Applegate said she will have reconstructive surgery on her breasts in coming months, and she showed fans that her sense of humor has remained intact.

“I’m going to have cute boobs ’til I’m 90,” she said.

The California-born Applegate rose to fame playing a ditzy daughter on the Fox network’s bawdy family sitcom “Married … With Children,” and since then has starred in several movies and TV shows.

She won an Emmy, U.S. television’s top honor, for a guest role on “Friends,” and was Emmy-nominated for “Samantha Who?” playing an amnesiac trying to put her life back together.

Applegate told “Good Morning America” she is starting a charitable foundation to help women meet the costs of MRI exams, which is how her disease was discovered.

The actress also will appear on upcoming TV fundraiser “Stand Up to Cancer” singing alongside Mariah Carey, Beyonce and Sheryl Crow, who also has battled breast cancer.

Please note: The contact form located on this website does not go to Christina Applegate - the form is a way to contact me, Jennifer, the webmaster of this website. I don’t have a way of contacting Christina, so unfortunately, the messages are going nowhere. If you want to leave a message for Christina, please consider doing so in the “comments” section of the posts on the main page - I will be adding them to a project I’m currently working on, and hopefully Christina will see that. Thanks!

If Christina should see this…. I am 36, and I have always adored you. I was sad to hear that your had breast cancer. Like you, my mom also battled breast cancer (she passed away in 2005 after it spread to her lungs). Mom was also diagnosed at the age of 36 and fought it on and off for over 20 years. She was BRCA 1 positive and so am I. I’m sure, like me , you knew it would show up one day. I’m so proud of you for the courageous decision you made. I know it wasn’t an easy one. You’re in my thoughts and prayers.

  7. Jo Says:

Hey Christina, I commend your bravery. It is so refreshing to see someone who is a celebrity come out and use their status to help others. To have your breasts removed must have been traumatic. You are brave and amazing person. I feel for you, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

    Hello Christina,

Sexy has a lot more to do with attitude than body parts. I’m delighted to hear that you’re cancer-free! Your courage will encourage other women to weigh the “tough” choice.

    Kudos!

    Prayers & blessings ….

    Steven

I too hope that Christina sees our messages, as well as others here. She has always been such a favorite actress of mine, but her heart &determination make me love her all the more. I’m sorry that she has had to face this issue and make these hard, hard decisions. If there is any bright side - besides the cute boobs at 90 ;) - you are helping women everywhere, affected with cancer or not, take notice of your courage and brave resolve to be healthy. I will wear my pink ribbon for Christina, she is awesome!

  12. Julia Says:

I just watched the Good Morning America video and I think Christina is an amazing woman, so brave and an inspiration to all women out there battling this horrific plague on society that is breast cancer. I am astounded by how positive she has remained. *Hugs* to you right now Christina xxx

I was diagnosied at 32 and choice to have a double masectomy as well. I know every thing is going to be just fine. Remain postive and you will see how strong this makes you.

  15. Sharon Says:

Best of luck to Christina! You are a very brave young lady. My mother passed away at about your age back in the early 1960’s. They didn’t have any testing or treatments like they do now. Could we find out exactly what this special MRI test is and where we can get it? Is it something specific to ask for that has a identifiable name? My prayers are with you!

  16. M. Elaine Marsala Says:

You go girl! My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer at 42 years of age. She had a bi-lateral mastectomy and had her lymph notes removed. She never has chemo ro radiation either. They just took wide margins. I am happy to say that she is 75 and is still cancer free. My mom also took the gene test, as did her sister who also had breast cancer later in life, and the good news is that neither has the gene. Even more good news in case you are contemplating a family someday. Like your mom, mine is a hero to me. Draw strength from your mom and the many who are supporting you. Here’s to you and all of the other “gutzy gals” out there.

  17. Sandi Says:

My prayers are with you Christina. You are indeed very brave. You will have te cutest boobs when you are 90. My heart goes out to you and all the cancer victims/survivors out there. May God go with you all! Many hugs!!1

  18. Teri Says:

I was just diagnosed with breast cancer in August. My mother is a 21 year survivor. I have not tested for the gene yet but I plan to since I have a daughter myself. Currently I am in the process of choosing a doctor/hospital to go to. It is very overwhelming. I plan to have a double mastsectomy as well, even though my cancer is only in one breast. I am 40 years old and I have been having mammograms since I was in my late 20’s; however I found my mass. I have invasive lobular carcinoma and this type of cancer is “missed” in mammograms. After an MRI I now know that there are three tumors in the one breast. I am so glad that Christina came out with her information about how important MRI’s are. If I knew that last year maybe this would have been caught earlier, because it was missed on the mammogram I had in December of 2007. I will have my surgery in September and I am praying for the same results that Chrstina got!

  20. Joe C. Smith Says:

I would like to tell Christina that I think you are incredible. There are no words that will reduce the fear,
anxiety and devastation of cancer. I love you and will always pray that your life is blessed. Do not fear but simply believe in God. It is the best insurance policy of all time. Someday, we shall all return to him
and this test, we were given here on earth simply has to be passed. My family has been attacked by
cancer. My grandmother, mother and my wife. All three are breast cancer survivors and are leading
active lives now. You are and have always been a spiritual young lady, and I do believe that the good
you have shown and done will not be forgotten by those who love and adore you. You will always
be in my prayers and in my heart. God Bless You Always Christina.
    Love,
